Day 2: May 13th 2010 (kind of a very sloppy blog, but im tired)

"The best pace is a suicide pace, and today looks like a good day to die" -Steve Prefontaine

Those are the true words of a competitor, today i slowed down my pace, but that is so i can easier achieve a faster running pace :)

I know I know, 9 days later I decide to continue! well, I was busy last week, I know that's not a legitimate excuse, but it works right? haha
I am working on the project of cleaning out my room, and tho week 1 i was able to balance that with running, last week was just kinda screwball I guess.

Today i was upset, at someone I once knew in particular for a particular reason im not about to discuss on MY fitness blog, but I figured fuck that bastard, im going to go run it off.

So, I start out with a bowl of Cheerios, I took Jennie's advice and had something a little healthier, I drank a little water, put on a tank, and left

Slow jog, for some reason, targets my shins first, my calves are pretty bulky-strong (i love to cycle), so I put in my Steely Dan on my ipod with about 10 mins to go, I selected them again because I can take most of their music and in no way affiliate it with any bad memories like i can somehow put to most other music I listen to as of late.

O and I only had 10 mins or so because I had to rescue my nephew from the depths of the school bus, so it wasn't as long as i had hoped, but points for it being something.

So, after I walk (I didn't time it either, i just figured id do a loop around the couldesac, then run) I run a slow jog,I ALMOST got to half way around the loop, which isnt too bad considering im generally a terrible runner.
I feel that old familiar pain in my chest, and in my shins, i stretch it out, and decide on this HOTTEST day so far this year (to quote fox 12 news) I stop and go to a breather of a walk, walk about 1/3 more of a couldesac, and sprint again for a little, walk a little more, sprint a little more, walk shortly, and sprint home.
All in all with that first walk, that's about 2 or 3 times around the loop. I roller blade more then that at night, but for some reason, running really does my body in.

Then, as I do when I work out at any heat in my body, I cough, today i tasted blood, kinda weird but it happens sometimes frequently lately when I cough.

So Steely Dan 's song Midnight Cruiser, and their other song do it again were my couple of noticeable choices for today

(midnight cruiser)
"Felonious my old friend, step on in and let me shake your hand" I swear, working out in itself is a felony, because I do not DO NOT do it enough, but im going to be positive and say im thankful its not a total loss and I did it today, and i write these blogs as a motivation,so i feel compelled to exercise a little more.
PARTIAL FAIL on my part, but PARTIAL WIN for getting out there, and for making efforts to keep going, can't guarantee I will, but I definitely intend on it, and will try to make more time for it.

So Today's win: Slowing down my jog, Slowing down my walk too, not letting the bastards get me down, eating better before I left, staying mostly hydrated!

Today's fail: yelling at my nephew for YET AGAIN ruining my flow of writing and as you can see, fucking up my blog, my headphones falling out of my ears when i sprinted, not getting out here until 9 days after the last
but that will change.

New headphones: $25 or so
Water bottle: Free at PUD stand at Home and garden fair
One day opting to being skinnier then thou and ridding that preggo look underneath my cutsie tanktops and fulfilling my obsession with Steve Prefontaine: Priceless
